Vintage Silk 1950s circle atomic skirt dress with crinoline
Label: Carol Craig of New York
Absolutely stunning original 1950s dress from America. In an unusual and vibrant floral print in shades of atomic green, yellow and ochre.
The fabric is draped beautifully as a wrap over front that tucks into a gathered waist giving the illusion of a very waspish nipped in middle. The wide ‘y’ line neck is a classic of the era and emphasises the hourglass shape.
Other period styling details include ¾ length sleeves and of course the full swing skirt that has an inbuilt stiff net crinoline.
Dress has a hidden metal zipper and a metal hook and thread eye closure at the top to keep you secure.
Label inside reads ‘International Ladies Garment Workers Union – the US’s largest Trade Union. The label dates the dress as been made between 1955 and 1963

It is a truly wonderful garment and a shame to part with it but I need the space.
It is in excellent condition considering its age - over 60 years old.
This was one of my best vintage dresses and by far the most perfect of any of the same label that I have found.
I’m selling off a huge chunk of my vintage collection so please check back for more items.

PLEASE READ
Please do ask any questions prior to bidding, I’m happy to help.
· Returns are usually not accepted so check all measurements carefully including garment lengths if you are worried about items been too short.
· I strive to describe clearly any flaws, imperfections and issues clearly as I want you to be happy with your purchase.
· Please read the listing carefully and ask questions.
· With vintage items do bear their age in mind and if you have to have absolute perfection you will be better off with pristine dead stock or rare garments described as ‘museum quality’. Again I will describe all flaws as well as plus points.
· We have 2 cats. I keep them away from my clean selling stuff and check items for any stray hair. If the idea of owning things from a home that has feline’s bothers you please do not bid.
· We are nice, reasonable people and hope that you are as well. If there is a problem let me know before we exchange feedback.
PAYMENT
· I accept PayPal and cheques (UK only whilst they are still in existence) and postal orders.
· Fast payment = Fast shipping
· Please pay within 3 days or let me know if you need a bit longer and give me a date I can expect payment. If you are bidding on other items you can hang fire too so you can combine shipping – just let me know so I don’t pester until the items are finished.
SHIPPING
· I will happily combine shipping and find sellers who won’t a bit weird, so do request an invoice for multiple items if I haven’t sent one already.
· I will partially refund p&p charges if I have significantly charged too much.
· I always get proof of postage and send items recorded so if anything goes astray I will work with you to provide relevant documentation.
UK
· I will send items signed for at least - for my piece of mind. If you want Special Delivery (UK) or extra insurance just let me know. You can choose first or second class.
· No items have gone missing I’ve had two cases where Royal Mail has returned items to me as they could not find the address and one was not picked up from the Post Office in time, these were then delivered successfully.
INTERNATIONAL
· I love international buyers and again use recorded methods of postage but let me know your preferences. Prices are given for recorded shipping but if you want to keep costs down for lower cost items get in touch BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS and we can discuss cheaper methods if available.
· In some cases/destinations such as France and Italy I will insist on a traceable/insured method of delivery.
OTHER BUMF
Do add me as a favourite seller – I will be listing lots more clothing including vintage from Victorian to the 60’s, repro rockabilly, new wave, punk, goth styling’s along with records and other curiosities.
