Civil War Era Lined Ladies Corset These working corsets are our best selling items. Our clients have been very pleased with the quality and workmanship. Check out our feedback to see their compliments. I've developed a durable, yet wearable design that will achieve the period correct look. It is made of two layers of heavy, pre-washed cotton fabric. The seams in the outer layer have been felled for increased strength. It laces up the back using durable lacing tape. The two ties meet at the waist. It has 8 flexible metal bones sewn into the corset between the layers. The materials I use provide enough strength to assure the proper shape and support while still allowing some degree of mobility. I have worn my unlined corset while sewing at craft shows and re-enactments for several years and I am very pleased with the way it has held up. Hook and eye tape is used as the front closure. This method of closing the corset is equal in strength to busk, but allows more flexibility and provides a more economical product. Extra Boning If your bra cup
size is
larger than a "D", I recommend extra boning. I also recommend extra
boning if the waist measurement exceeds 44 inches. If you wish to have
extra
boning, please contact us prior to making payment. We will send you a
modified invoice through Ebay. There is an additional $5 charge per set
of two extra bones. Shipment Each corset
will
be custom made for you. Please allow approximately one week from your
order date for me to complete your corset. You will receive an email
with
the delivery confirmation number when the corset is ready to ship. Your
corset will be shipped to you using Priority Mail. General
Instructions The corsets are
machine washable.
I recommend line drying. These corsets
are not
intended to drastically reduce your waist size. The corset is made to
take the strain, but your body is not. For health reasons, I do not
recommend taking more than four inches off of your waist size. I include
lacing
instructions with each corset. This provides you with details on how to
properly put on and wear your new corset. The instructions are printed
on
a bright orange slip of paper attached to your packing slip. My clients and the quality of my products are very important to me. I welcome all correspondence from my customers. ORDERING

I have sewn for re-enactors, museums, theaters, a film producer, and many clients just like you. I started the business several years ago and have become an attraction at local craft shows as I sew on my antique treadle sewing machine, dressed in period clothing. My husband and I have decided to expand our clientele by offering my items through this site. We believe you will appreciate the high quality products, the fair prices, and the quick service. I personally make all of the products I sell, right here in America. I try to purchase my supplies from American companies as well. Most of the items created at Treadle Treasures are done on a 1914 White Rotary and an 1889 Singer treadle sewing machine. Minimal sewing is done on a modern electric machine.
